The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has charged a Ukrainian woman for allegedly helping two Russian-linked hacking groups carry out cyberattacks funded with cryptocurrency.

Victoria Eduardovna Dubranova has been extradited to the United States. Prosecutors claimed she worked with two hacker organizations, CyberArmyofRussia_Reborn (CARR) and NoName.

Dubranova faces two separate indictments. Each one accuses her of taking part in a conspiracy to damage protected computer systems.

Officials stated that both groups received funding and backing from the Russian government. That financial support allegedly allowed them to run cyber campaigns against institutions in the US and abroad.

CARR is said to have spent part of its funds on renting “DDoS-as-a-service” tools to attack specific targets, while NoName reportedly built its own software to carry out similar operations.

CARR’s alleged activities include hacking into water systems in several US states, which disrupted a Los Angeles meat processing plant in November 2024, and attempted to interfere with US election infrastructure.

NoName is accused of claiming responsibility for hundreds of similar attacks around the world to advance Russia’s political aims.

Prosecutors also said NoName used Telegram to share details about its activities, attract new members, and pay participants in cryptocurrency.

Dubranova’s trial for the NoName-related charges is scheduled for February 3, 2026, while the case involving CARR will begin on April 7, 2026.

Recently, the DOJ seized tickmileas.com, a website linked to an online fraud ring operating out of Burma. How did the case unfold? Read the full story.
