Amazon has launched Alexa.com, a new website that lets people talk to its Alexa+ assistant via a chat-style interface on the web.
While many assistants help with shopping and task management, Alexa+ stands out by letting users control smart-home devices directly from their browser.
Although Amazon has not referred to Alexa as an “AI agent”, the new features arrive as the company limits third-party services that automate actions on its platform.

Amazon said in a statement, “Alexa+ has evolved rapidly since it launched nine months ago”.
The company explained that Alexa+ now connects with many different services and devices and reaches a large user base. The company noted that people are using the assistant much more than before, such as holding more conversations, making more purchases, and asking for more recipes.
Through Alexa.com, users can create images from prompts, manage reminders and notifications, and handle shopping tasks such as checking items, updating carts, or completing purchases through conversation.
The web interface also lets you manage Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods orders, upload files, schedule appointments, and control connected devices like Ring cameras, lights, and thermostats.
It works with both voice and text input and keeps context across Echo devices, the Alexa app, and desktop browsers.
