Strive, Inc. purchased an additional 1,110 Bitcoin between August 17 and August 21, bringing its total holdings to 21,356 BTC, according to a Form 8-K filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on August 24. The transaction, valued at approximately $81.5 million, further expands Strive’s Bitcoin treasury strategy as public companies compete to accumulate BTC on their balance sheets.

Strive Adds $81.5M in Bitcoin
According to the filing, Strive’s bitcoin holdings increased from 20,246 BTC as of August 14 to 21,356 BTC as of August 21. The increase of 1,110 BTC represents approximately 5.5% in just one week.

Strive stated that the new bitcoin was acquired at an average price of $73,409 per BTC, inclusive of fees and related expenses, bringing the total transaction value to roughly $81.5 million. However, the filing does not provide details on individual purchase orders or specific execution times during the period from August 17 to August 21.
The transaction took place right before bitcoin extended its rally toward the $80,000 region. BTC rose 22.7% in the week ending August 23, closing the week at $77,387 after gaining $14,264.
This move further reinforces how Strive positions itself as a public company under the Bitcoin treasury model. In the strategy description on its investor relations page, the company stated that it will use bitcoin as a “hurdle rate” for capital allocation, meaning financial decisions are evaluated against the ability to accumulate value in BTC.
In addition to bitcoin, the filing also updated several related asset items. Strive’s cash and cash equivalents increased from $154.8 million to $171.9 million, while the company maintained 505,000 STRC shares of Strategy Inc., with their fair value increasing from $47.9 million to $48.6 million.
Bitcoin-per-Share Rises Despite New Issuance
The new purchase occurred at the same time Strive continued to expand its outstanding shares, placing focus on bitcoin-per-share, a metric closely watched within the Bitcoin treasury peer group.
According to figures in the filing, Strive’s effective common shares outstanding increased from 86.04 million to 89.68 million during the period ending August 21, representing an increase of about 4.2%. During the same period, bitcoin holdings rose 5.5%, from 20,246 BTC to 21,356 BTC.
That helped BTC per effective common share increase by approximately 1.2%. Under the Bitcoin treasury model, this metric indicates whether raising capital and acquiring additional bitcoin increases exposure per share of common stock.
Strive also reported that assumed fully diluted shares rose to 92.95 million from 89.30 million a week earlier. SATA preferred stock outstanding increased by 441,313 shares to 8.27 million, indicating that the company continues to rely on capital markets to expand its balance sheet while continuing to accumulate BTC.
Strive Moves Deeper Into the Bitcoin Treasury Pack
Following the latest transaction, Strive now holds more than 0.1% of Bitcoin’s maximum supply. The 21,356 BTC amount is equivalent to approximately 0.102% of the fixed 21 million BTC total supply, aligning with the company’s claim that it owns more than 1 out of every 1,000 bitcoin that could ever exist.
According to data from Bitcoin Treasuries, Strive is the seventh-largest public company holding bitcoin as of August 24, with its BTC holdings valued at approximately $1.7 billion. The platform also estimates Strive’s enterprise value mNAV at around 1.32x, a metric commonly used to compare a company’s enterprise value to the value of its bitcoin holdings.

Strive is still far behind Strategy, the leader of the Bitcoin treasury group, but its scale of over 21,000 BTC has placed the company among major holders alongside Twenty One Capital, Metaplanet, and MARA. Within this group, investors typically track the rate of BTC accumulation, access to capital markets, and the premium or discount relative to the value of bitcoin holdings.
The additional purchase also places Strive squarely at the center of the wave of Bitcoin treasury stocks, as the market responds more strongly to companies with direct BTC exposure. For Strive, following the August 24 filing, it is not just about its holdings exceeding 21,000 BTC, but also its ability to continue raising capital while the peer group’s premium remains heavily dependent on bitcoin prices and investor confidence in the long-term accumulation strategy.
